Abstract

Natural products made by microor- ganisms are becoming more com- mon. Concerns, such as controlling odor-causing bacteria on the body, acne-causing bacteria on the skin and limiting pathogenic bacteria on the hands are constantly challenging the formulation chemist. Microorganisms and Cosmetics gathers discussions on preservation, malodor control, sanitary issues, and the diverse synthesizing capa- bilities of microorganisms in making cosmetically active compounds that are natural and environmentally responsible.
