Professor Luraghi has worked on various aspects of Greek history and historiography. He is the author of The Ancient Messenians: Constructions of Ethnicity and Memory (Cambridge 2008) and of Tirannidi arcaiche in Sicilia e Magna Grecia (Florence 1994), and editor or co-editor of The Historian's Craft in the Age of Herodotus (Oxford 2001), Helots and their Masters in Laconia and Messenia (Cambridge, Mass. 2003), and The Politics of Ethnicity and the Crisis of the Peloponnesian League (Cambridge, Mass. 2009).
