Michael Charles completed a PhD in ancient history at the University of Queensland in 2003. He then undertook a Master of International Business Studies at the Queensland University of Technology, where he is now employed as a lecturer. He currently researches and teaches international business and public policy in QUT’s School of Management.
Michael Charles has published a number of papers on military history and has a particular interest in the Late Empire, the Flavio-Trajanic period, naval history, and elephants in antiquity. He is also interested in economic history, energy policy and future transport.
